INFORMATION and Communications Minister Timothy Masiu says he will check with his management regarding the deteriorating condition of communication facilities in Daru, Western.
After receiving reports that the Western health authority had condemned the Provincial National Broadcasting Corporation studio, Post Office and the bmobile tower, Masiu said: “I have not received any notice yet but will follow up on it.”
Daru Mayor Samuel Wingu said earlier that the health authority had issued condemnation notices to National Broadcasting Corporation. “Notices were also issued to the staff houses, including the station manager’s house. Also the deteriorated post office has been closed because of health issues and the structure of the 150-metre bmobile tower is rusty. The nuts and the bolts are falling down and it is very scary.”
