Ministers must be well versed

IT seems some MPs do not know how to argue constructively instead of using ill-fated techniques to quell their critics. Take for instance, Agriculture Minister Tommy Tomscoll’s outburst oat the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce CEO. I can think of some other MP’s too but this one seems to be in the limelight of both our daily newspapers this week. Some of his comments were not even fit to be published. Ministers should be well-versed with their department’s activities and should be able to argue constructively based on facts and figures and not gibberish. Questions and criticisms should be taken in good stride and debated intellectually instead going on the offensive.
