Mioks eye seventh win against Tigers

THE Enga Mioks are looking to win their seventh game of the 2018 Digicel Cup and maintain their unbeaten run and No.1 spot when they host the Lae Tigers on Sunday.
Mioks coach Timothy Lepa said the side had to contend with the unavailability of fullback Yabra Kuk (broken rib) and second-rower Lee James (suspension).
With the uncertainty of five-eighth Roger Laka not playing as well, Lepa said he was glad experienced prop Esau Siune would take the field at Aipus, Wabag.
Lepa said after a great start to their 2018 campaign their goal was to stay on top of the standings and beating the Tigers in Wabag was a must.
He thanked major sponsor the Enga Provincial Government as well as their fans for backing them.
“The Mioks have never been on top of the ladder by themselves and that’s where we are now so it’s something we are hoping to maintain,” Lepa said.
Lae coach Stanley Tepend said his side had an inconsistent start to their title defence but he was positive about his side’s chances in Wabag.
