Mioks force their way to draw with Dabaris

THREE penalty goals from Junior Pokapen saw the Enga Mioks force a 6-6 draw – their third of the season – with the Central Dabaris in round four of the Digicel Cup in Port Moresby yesterday.
The only try in the match came from Dabaris winger Gairo Kapana in the 58th minute which saw the hosts take a 6-4 lead following a successful conversion.
But a late Pokapen penalty saw the winless visitors level the scores before fulltime.
Mioks coach Roger Laka said he was disappointed that his senior players were not able to step up against the Dabaris.
“We are making the same mistakes in every game,” he said.
“Our senior players didn’t perform to our expectations.
“I am issuing instructions but it’s the players who need to get the job done. It all comes down to their game management,” Laka said.
