Mixed bag of weather for now

A MIXED bag of weather is scattered around the country as the dry season tries to settle in but there is no real dominant condition at present, the National Weather Office says.
Senior duty officer Peter Warupi said Southern should expect isolated showers and thunderstorms scattered over Milne Bay, Mamose New Guinea Islands, East New Britain, the Autonomous Region of Bougainville and the Highlands.
Warupi said those going out to sea should take precautions of the strong east to south-west winds as last week.
“Fresh to strong east to southeast winds of 20 to 34 knots are expected to continue causing rough seas,” he said.
The warning is mainly for Southern through the Indonesian border, Torres Strait, Daru, Kiwai Islands, Gulf of Papua, Yule Island, Hood Point, Vitiaz, Dampier Strait, Siassi, Long Island and western Coral Sea.
Small craft and boats are advised to take necessary pre-cautions.
