EVERY time we elect a new leader into a public office, the first assurance we get from them is to check the books and clean the office!
The outcome of checking of the books and cleaning of the offices from all level of public organisation has never reached the people.
Corruption is high in this country and new measures have been installed to eradicate it which is good.
But the most worrying thing is the huge amount of taxpayers’ money being spent with no tangible results.
No one is found guilty, no one is prosecuted and no one is sidelined.
What is happening to our auditing systems?
Provinces and districts have spent millions hiring accountants and auditors but all investigations turn out to be of non-results.
Do we really believe that this Union Bank of Switzerland (USB) loan inquiry will set some precedent by sending high profile figures to jail?
Millions have been wasted funding investigations after investigations and people need some fruitful answers.
