Morata League Offseason set to stage final

THE Motor Vehicles Insurance Limited (MVIL) Morata Offseason Rugby League is set to stage its grand finals at the Kone Tigers Oval in Port Moresby on Sunday.
A total of K21,000 in prizes are on offer for the grand finalists in the A grade, Under-20s and women’s division. Individuals awards will also be presented. The A-grade winners will walk away with K4,000 and the MVIL Cup while the runners-up will pocket K2,000.
In the A-grade grand final, Mumuts take on Gateway Sharks and opposing captains Pero Ruben and Simon Auro are optimistic of their sides’ chances.
“We have gained a lot under the leadership of chairman Samson Metofo,” Sharks captain Auro said.
The women’s grand final will feature current and former Papua New Guinea Orchids in Mumuts’ Bethshiba Awoi, Joyce Waula, Belinda Waula and Maryanne Kua, and M3 Bulldogs’ Roswita Jack Kapo and Vanessa Palme.
Mautana Roosters face Sharks in the U20 grand final.
