THE Moresby South Motu-Koita netball tournament continues at the Southside Fitness Centre this weekend as a total of 24 senior and intermediate (Under-21) teams prepare for tip-off.
Tournament coordinator Asi Mou said the intensity in competition among Moresby South’s Motu-Koita villages was building following the successful junior matches last weekend.
“We’re continuing the momentum from the thrilling junior grand final which saw Kirakira beat Korobosea Team One,” she said.
“This will be the 2021 tournament with our senior and intermediate divisions.
“Moresby South Motu-Koita netball senior and intermediate matches will tip off at Southside Fitness Centre on Saturday.
“There are six Motu-Koita villages in Vabukori, Pari, Kirakira, Mahuru, Korobosea and Taurama and each will field two teams in the senior and intermediate divisions.
“This will bring a total of 24 teams that will compete over the next three months.”
Meanwhile following the successful staging of the junior matches, Mou said there was more in store for competition in the other two divisions.
“The juniors have set the standard and we’re hoping to see more from the senior teams that will competing,” she said.
