Mori keen to develop small businesses

Developing small-to-medium enterprises in Chuave is a priority this year, said district MP Wera Mori.
“I come from a very rural community and over the last five years, I have strived to deliver services to Chuave that includes running SME programmes,” said Mori, who is also Minister for Commerce and Industry.
“And I do know from different occasions where we have provided seed capitals to little people in the villagers who cannot speak up for themselves and, yes, there has been some failures but there has been those who have succeeded. They have built guesthouses, they have opened up bakeries, and also have expanded trading though merchandise sales.
“This is simply because they have tried to be entrepreneurs.
“The future of Papua New Guinea lies in small people picking up SME activities.
“I believe in small-to-medium enterprises because that is where our people will be focused.
“This is the sector that I will be promoting in Chuave and also across the country.”
