Papua New Guinean entrepreneurs must not be disadvantaged in their own country, says Commerce and Industry Minister Wera Mori.
He said he will ask the Investment Promotion Authority to keep an eye on taka shops olwned by foreign businessmen.
“What they do is they put a network of trade stores or taka shops throughout the city,” Mori said at the opening of Rest Inn lodge in Port Moresby on Saturday. “They advance goods in those taka shops and as soon as those goods go into those taka shops, they send their own people in to watch over the cash registry.”
