THE Morobe government has appointed four new representatives to work with Tutumang members for the next five years.
They are Sapita Peter (women’s rep), James Imbong (business), Yamai Asepis (community) and Kotty Okawiong (church).
They are the replacements endorsed by the provincial executive council and sworn into office last week during a special PEC meeting chaired by Governor Ginson Saonu.
Okawiong, who has been a Lutheran Renewal elder for 30 years, thanked the PEC and Saonu for the appointments.
On behalf of the group, he said they would carry out their duties faithfully to serve the people of the province and work to achieve the government’s development goals and aspirations.
“In my ministry, I would like to see more government and church engagement programmes,” Okawiong said.
“I don’t want differences but want all churches to benefit under the programme. “I want to work with people who can align themselves to fight against corruption and other evils in our society,” Okawiong said.
Okawiong replaced Pr Bafikec Bomerinuc of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
