THE Morobe government is working closely with all nine districts to have key impact projects delivered to the people, says Governor Ginson Saonu.
He said this last week when presenting K500,000 to Bulolo MP Sam Basil to fix the Waria Road.
Bulolo is the fifth district to receive funding assistance from Morobe government.
Tewai-Siassi, Markham, Menyamya and Huon Gulf districts earlier received similar funding assistance.
“As governor of Morobe, I’d like to work very closely with all our MPs to serve the province,” Saonu said.
“In the past, we have had this experience when leaders get elected into office, the governor goes his own way and MPs go their own way.
“I do not want this to happen under my leadership.
“If there is no unity, leaders are divided and services are also divided.
“This has adversely affected our people.”
Saonu said to consolidate the province’s unity with Bulolo, he ws presenting K500,000 to the district.
He said the funding came from the province’s internal revenue. Saonu said the next lot of funding would go to Nawaeb.
Basil thanked Saonu for the assistance given to the district.
Basil, who is also the chairman of the Bulolo district development authority, said the money would be used to construct the Waria Road.
“The district will put in some counterpart funding to build the Waria Road,” he said.
