Morobe govt needs to help students

THE former Morobe  provincial government made human resource development one of its priorities.

It initiated the MPG scholarship to assist unfortunate Morobeans.

We commend former governor Luther Wenge for the scholarship.

Following a change of leadership, the scholarship is limited to a select group.

Many students attending colleges and universities are unable to get the scholarship because the new governor said there was not enough funds.

The provincial government said only the HECAS or AES-sponsored students will get the scholarship.

This is good for the fortunate Morobeans.

But the unfortunate ones have missed out, creating a chasm of inequality in distribution of much-needed resources.
