Mose: Relief efforts progressing well

NATIONAL Disaster Centre director Martin Mose says the disaster management coordination in the earthquake-hit areas in Hela and Southern Highlands is progressing well.
Mose had visited Tari a day after the 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Hela and Southern Highlands to see the extent of damage.
His office with other government agencies have been coordinating relief efforts in Hela, Southern Highlands, Enga and Western and providing food, water, medicine and buildings materials to the affected areas.
Mose said this in Port Moresby yesterday as he and his staff returned to their offices after a problem with rental last week.
He said they continued their operations from the National Weather Service centre “which is our closest ally in our operations” until yesterday when their office was reopened.
