AN appeal by the Waigani police station for a computer system has been answered by a motor car dealer – 2 Fast Motors Ltd.
Chief executive officer Billy Lin handed over a set of computer worth K2600 to police station commander Inspector Jerry Yawa last Friday.
Lin said a letter was written to him by Senior Constable George Kumun explaining the difficulties they were facing to replace an old computer.
He said the donation was to help police with the daily updating of reports and other duties especially in Waigani and Morata.
Lin said police officers played a big role in the community in dealing with the increase in robbery, car theft and hijacking.
“My support will ensure that police recording and filing system is updated daily to monitor the rate of law and order in the community,” he said.
He said it was not the first time he was helping police in National Capital District.
Yawa said the donation was timely as they had been facing the problem for sometime.
“This donation will get our systems back on the line and make it much easier to monitor law and order in Waigani and Morata,” he said.
