MOTU Koita Rugby League Association as an affiliate of the governing body PNGRFL is planning to be stricter with its operations this season when they kick off next month April 12-14.
In order to comply with all PNGRFL regulations, the league’s president Dai Pipi Boe urged all interested clubs to meet the set criteria.
“All club names, uniforms and logos must be different and all club registration fees of K1000 must be paid before April 13,” Boe said.
“This year we will only allow 12 senior men’s teams because for the first time we will have our women’s competition so all clubs must have a men’s, Under-20s and women’s team. “All teams that take part must three registered team officials which are coach, team manager and trainer and 17 to 25 registered players with K50 registration per player fee that will be due on April 30.”
Boe also encouraged all U20 players to have birth certificates or NID cards in order to participate in the competition.
“Only players’ turning 19 or below on January 1 will be accepted and players who turned 20 years on Jan 1 won’t be allowed to take part in this division,” Boe said.
Boe also stressed the importance of clubs providing players with medical clearances from a certified doctor or clininc and to be attached to their player registration forms.
Boe also added that players and officials with current or pending disciplinary issues with MKRLA or any other league or any competition sanctioned by PNGRFL would not be allowed to participate in any capacity.
“All clubs must have a signing and declaration of allegiance and consent to terms and conditions to uphold rules and regulations of the competition.”
