Motu Koitabu holds music fest

THE first 2019 Motu Koitabu music festival brought together more than thousand women, children and men with a common love for music at Ela Beach last Saturday.
Families enjoyed three hours of live entertainment from various groups from Motu and Koitabu villages in the categories of choir,peroveta and string band.
The top three groups in each category received cash prizes ranging from K3,000 to K1,000.
Consolation prizes were given to the most improved groups and to all groups that participated.
More than 30 groups competed with top honours going to the following groups: Choir – 1st: Vaboha Choir Group (Elevala Lahara-Hanuabada), 2nd: Poreporena Choir (Hanuabada), 3rd: HBNAC Choir (Hanuabada); Most Improved: Kirakira Choir; Peroveta – 1st: Apau Vahoi (Poreporena Lahara-Hanuabada), 2nd: Kirakira (Kirakira), 3rd: Mimi Diakono (Pari); Most Improved: Sarona Vahuvahuna (Vabukori); String band – 1st: Bese (Pari), 2nd: Manubada (Vabukori), 3rd: Hisiu Bada (Mirigini-Hanuabada); Most Improved: Oalabada (Hanuabada).
The event was hosted by the Motu Koita Assembly with the support of National Capital District Commission, Steamships Trading Company, Exxon Mobil PNG LNG and Boroko Motors.
BSP, SP Brewery, Brian Bell Group of Companies, Blue 7 Team, Curtain Brothers and Lalokau FM also backed the event.
