Motu-Koitabu landowners drive away with new truck

AFTER 35 years, the traditional landowners of the capital city and the Motu-Koitabu landowners in the Moresby North-East electorate have been recognised for their contribution.
The district development authority presented a truck to the community on Saturday at Korobosea village.
The K130,000 truck would be managed by the United Church and coordinated by the village councillor to be used by the community for funerals, church and emergency events.
MP Kaupa said the DDA decided to buy the vehicle to fulfil a commitment he made when he contested for election in 2012.
Councillor Tabu Gaudi said the six clans that live on the ridge of Korobosea were the only Motu-Kotabuans in the electorate while the others were in Moresby South and Moresby West.
He said for many years, those people had been overlooked in terms of municipal services.
Korobosea United Church chairman Ken Vaibua thanked Kapua and his DDA for their support.
