Move by commerce dept timely

Letters, Normal

I REFER to the advertisement by the Department of Commerce and Industry in The National on page 16 last Friday.
I would like to commend Commerce Minister Gabriel Kapris and his department for coming out with the warning.
As an owner of one of a media production houses in PNG, I find it very hard to get jobs from major companies as all their jobs are sent overseas for production.
We have a lot of university dropouts here who are talented and have the knowledge and skills to do a proper job.
We have graphic artists, script writers, animators, cameraman, audio specialists, screen printers, sign writers, video editors, producers, etc.
Who said PNG is lacking in human resources?
We have them but these so-called big companies are ignoring our expertise and prefer to go elsewhere.
I support Kapris’ move to track down these companies and get tough on them to have all their jobs done in PNG to create more jobs for our people and keep the money in our country.
