Moving for power

Letters

IT is laughable to see many politicians, whether you are a State minister or an ordinary Member
of Parliament, moving sides
for their own motives and interests.
Those who know who they are behind closed doors know who is who in terms of their standing and credibility as a politician.
If they fail to serve the interest of their own electorate how can they serve the interest of the country if they aspire to be the prime minister when their own backyard is full of accumulated garbage.
God will still intervene and bestow the prime ministership to someone with some standing following the intention of PM O’Neill to resign.
Only when the head of State formally receives Peter O’Neill’s resignation letter, the Governor-General can then sign the instruments of advice to the speaker to call for nominations on the floor of parliament.
On the other hand, the vote of no confidence process in itself may take longer than seven days if opposition can maintain numbers to see it through so game is not technically over yet for O’Neill or the government side.
