POLICE are still investigating Papua New Guinea Teachers Association general secretary Ugwalubo Mowana who is facing a charge of sexually touching a woman without her consent.
Mowana, 53 and from Kaibota village in Milne Bay, appeared at the Waigani Committal Court on May 13 on allegations of sexually touching a woman on two occasions.
Senior magistrate Cosmas Bidar said police investigations were still underway.
Bidar said he would allow a month’s adjournment for police to complete investigations and file copies of submissions to the defendant and the court.
Mowana made his second appearance yesterday from an extended police bail.
It is alleged that on Feb 10, 2012 at the Papua New Guinea old association headquarters at Waigani, Mowana touched the breast of the woman without her consent.
On November 13, 2013 Mowana allegedly touched the bottom of the same woman at the headquarters.
On his last mention on May 12, Bidar said that the events occurred on two separate dates.
But he could not see any reason why the woman had to wait almost three years to report the matter to police.
Mowana will return to court on July 12 for mention.
