Daulo MP Pogio Ghate opened a service station on Friday and called on the people of Daulo, in Eastern Highlands, to run businesses to attract Government support, says Daulo MP Pogio Ghate.
The service station is at Mando village.
Ghate said the Government has plans and a vision to help people prosper and develop, but the people should start their own business to allow the Government to come in and help.
He congratulated Jackie Supa Girupe for opening the service station.
“We can make Asaro a business hub for the people of Daulo district. They do not have to go to Goroka to get service. We already have coffee gardens, food gardens and other commodities here,” Ghate said.
He directed Daulo District Administration to use White House Service station.
Managing director Girupe thanked MP Ghate and others for making it possible for him to open the service station.
Daulo Community Spokesman Homate Heitch Gimisive congratulated Girupe for taking the right approach.
“This is the way forward to grow the local economy,” he said.
He assured Puma Energy and National Development Bank that their support would not be wasted.
Puma Energy’s Henry Maino assured there would be consistent fuel supplies and he would continue to work with the management of White House Service station.
National Development Bank’s Timothy Lafana said Girupe was the first person from Daulo district to get support from the bank and he invited people to ask the bank for business loans.
Ghate invested K10,000 in the service station.
