SOUTH Bougainville MP Timothy Masiu recently officiated at the opening of a newly-built classroom for Kulula Primary School in Wisai.
The Government-funded project was delivered to the school which has been in operation since 1964.
The two-in-one classroom opened last Wednesday was funded through the district service improvement programme funds at the cost of K250,000.
The Catholic agency school where Masiu began his education has strived on over 56 years of education services to the Wisai people with support from them and the church.
School board of management and parents hailed the new classroom as a much needed and welcomed addition to the school and appealed to Masiu to continue his support.
Masiu, who is the Minister for Information and Communication Technology, said Kulula Primary School would go through a phase of development.
He said another classroom would soon be built while another two would be completed before his term in Parliament ended.
Masiu said Wisai and Hairu primary schools had also received assistance and Lehu, Iuno and Akanai would also be receiving similar support.
He said education was one of his priority in the district.
