WORK on Mt Hagen’s K30 million water and sewerage project has started with locals from Warakum engaged to clear the site.
Mt Hagen MP William Duma and Water PNG chief operating officer Billy Imar launched the project last Friday. Warakum landowners representatives David Kaunsel, Gabriel Bak and David Waka led the men on Monday to clear bushes and shrubs.
“This is our dream because people’s health had been a concern for 30 years,” Waka said.
Bak said they would make sure the project was a success.
He thanked Duma for supporting the project.
The contractors are the Timduka LDiom Ltd, AMEC Construction and SoBigoM Engineering Solution Ltd.
