Muruks still on top

COMPETITION leaders, SBS Mendi Muruks, maintained their undefeated run so far in round six of the bemobile Cup rugby league competition when they defeated Toyota Enga Mioks 16-8 in Lae on Sunday.
The National yesterday incorrectly reported the score to be 18-15 in favour of the Mioks and the newspaper apologised to both teams and their supporters for the error.
The Muruks team and supporters were a bit shocked when they saw the incorrect scoreline and points ladder in yesterday’s newspaper.
After round six, the Muruks are leading on 11 points followed by Guria nine, Mioks eight, Vipers seven and Warriors seven making the top five spots.
Except Guria, the other four teams in the top five, have had a bye and have taken two points each under the new PNG National Rugby League competition rules.
Guria will take their bye at the end of round one and their free two points are waiting for them.
