FORMER top amateur turned professional boxer Kevin Baki is the new president of National Capital District Boxing Association.
Baki was elected unopposed by the nine clubs delegates  –  Gerehu, Joyce Bay, BX Kido, Vadavada, Hohola Youth, Gimavo (6-Mile), Hill Top (5-Mile), JDS (Tubusereia) and Korobosea. He replaces Honk Kiap, who occupied the office for three years.
Baki said according to the association’s constitution and bylaws the executives term in office is only one year.
Vicky Peni is the deputy president, secretary Warike Lugumo and treasurer Tony Waisa.
The executives with the support of the council members have passed a resolution to stage its first tournament on June 27 at Tubusereia,  Central.
Baki said it would be followed by fortnightly tournaments to keep the selected boxers in the 48-75kg division fit and in good shape for the Oceania tournament in Brisbane.
