Muthuvel beats Humphreys in WNB regional race

COALITION for Reform Party candidate Sasindran Muthuvel on Saturday was declared the governor for West New Britain province replacing Peter Humphreys.
He won the seat after polling 24,853 votes in the final exclusion beating his close rival Chris Lagisa who trailed second with 22,403 votes.
In Talasea open, sitting MP Francis Marus from PNG party retained his seat and was declared also on Saturday after he collected 788 votes in the final exclusion to win  with 17,408 votes.
He beat Victor Kave Narere from the Triumph Heritage Empowerment party with 13,759 votes.
Marus thanked his supporters and appealed to the West New Britain people to work with him to deliver to the electorate.
In North Bougainville open, Louta Atoi from the People’s National Congress P arty was also declared over the weekend after collecting 11,416 votes after the final exclusion.
William Nakin from the National Alliance party settled for the second spot with 7,784 votes.
