WEST New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel says he will seek the establishment of two more electorates for the province.

He said West New Britain had a large land mass and population but only had two electorates – Talasea and Kandrian-Gloucester.

“We need four electorates in the province for effective service delivery. I will not bow out, I will still pursue for additional electorate although they tell me not to talk about issues before the boundary commission,” Muthuvel told Parliament last week.

He said it was difficult to provide services to all areas of the province as the population was widespread on the mainland and islands.

He added that the National Government should consider the cost of service delivery in each district and local level government throughout the country.
