THE two-in-one sticker arrangement between the provincial governments and the Motor Vehicle Insurance Ltd (MVIL) has promoted efficiency in customer services and accountability, an official says.
Managing director Michael Makap said through the arrangement, MVIL combined its compulsory third party (CTP) insurance services and the vehicle registration into a single sticker and issued it to vehicle owners.
He said it was a commercial agreement and referred to it as the “two-in-one-sticker” arrangement which would promote a more efficient and transparent vehicle registration process for the remuneration of funds.
Makap said this during the renewal of the agreement between MVIL and the Central provincial government in Port Moresby on Tuesday.
He said MVIL was delegated to capture the vehicle population within the country, do registration and CTP insurance services where it provided guarantee for the provincial government that all monies collected would remitted to them monthly while MVIL kept less between five and eight per cent as an administration cost.
Makap said the agreement included:

  • A ONE-stop shop for motorists to pay for CTP insurance and vehicle registration;
  • MOTORISTS displaying a single sticker on their vehicles that covered MVIL’s CTP insurance and provincial government vehicles registration, instead of having two stickers;
  • EFFICIENCY in administrative work and time associated with dealing with a single service provider;
  • SECURED revenue collection via on-line payment system at a point of sale;
  • STRONG and transparent governance of cash administration between client and service provider; and,
  • ESTABLISHMENT on a single database management system capturing motor vehicles details in PNG.
