Namah: Govt has no policies

National

Vanimo-Green MP Belden Namah has criticised the Government saying it does not have concrete policies aside from those implemented by the previous government.
In a statement, Namah said the country was entering a policy vacuum.
“The Government must provide leadership and make decisions and it must be run on strong policies that create jobs and drive development, but we see nothing new from the Marape Government,” Namah said.
“It seems his greatest achievement so far is to make PNG look like a racist country in the eyes of the international community.”
Namah said the Government needed to work with all its international partners to deliver investment and create jobs.
“In the past two months we have seen investor confidence fall and business activity in our nation slow down,” he said. “The fact is that we also cannot forget that Marape was the Minister for Finance seven years, in charge of managing government finance.
“So the prime minister should look closer at his own responsibility for the economy over the past seven years and the way he is destroying investor confidence today.”
Namah said Marape had months to plan his power grab and implement new policies but had done nothing.
“When he started undermining the O’Neill government, which he was a part of, he said it was because the prime minister was not listening to him and his policies were not being adopted,” Namah said.
“These are his stated reasons for destabilising the government but now these reasons appear to mean nothing.”

  • Mr. Namah’s comments above are very shallow. Instead of complaining, he should offer constructive & objective policies in place of what he sees that PM Marape is now providing. I totally feel for Namah. The best he could do is keep quiet if he has no hard policies to offer.
PM Marape has said what he said. This is time to review, recover, restore, and take back what was stolen for sometimes now and even Namah did not speak out for this lost and stolen properties of PNG People. Please Namah offer constructive policies, do not complain and gribe.
