Namatanai gets 1,800 doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine

THE people of Namatanai in New Ireland now have the opportunity to receive the Sinopharm Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine, a doctor says.
Chinese medical team deputy leader Dr Liu Zhenqiu said at the request of local MP Walter Schnaubelt, 1,800 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine was donated to the Namatanai District Hospital.
Dr Zhenqiu and colleague Sr Yangjing Yang took the doses there on Friday and stored them at the provincial medical store for transporting to Namatanai.
“These are part of the Sinopharm vaccine donation from the Chinese government to the PNG government,” he said.
The Sinopharm vaccination was conducted in Port Moresby, Lae, Madang, Mt Hagen, Mendi, Enga, Goroka, Kokopo and Kimbe.
