THE National Agriculture Research Institute (Nari) has revealed its plans to develop farmer resource centres throughout Papua New Guinea, an official says.
Nari director-general Dr Sergie Bang made the announcement last Friday when opening a resource centre with two new solar rice milling machine at Atupan village in Markham, Morobe.
“The aim is to build agriculture resource centres in rural districts and communities throughout the country so that Nari and other organisations like Coffee Industry Cooperation, PNG Cocoa Board and others will also supply information to the centre farmers and growers can use to grow the kind of crops they want,” Bang said.
“The same will be applied to cattle, poultry, pigs, fish and other livestock.”
