THE National Superannuation Fund (Nasfund) will maintain its focus on member services with new initiatives next year, chief executive officer Ian Tarutia, pictured, says.
It has around 600,000 members.
“I can only say this at a high level, expect to see a new look in the New Year,” he said.
“You will just have to wait until we make that announcement that we are working on now for our entry into 2020.”
Nasfund income to September was K277 million compared to the budgeted K245.38 million for the same period.
Expenditure up to September was K46.29 million compared to a budgeted K47.03 million.
Profit before tax was K231.54 million compared to the budgeted K198.36 million.
“But some exciting times ahead. We are looking at maintaining our focus on member services,” Tarutia said.
Member withdrawals in the first quarter was K85.2 million compared to K96.8 million in the same quarter last year.
Tarutia said the rollout of kiosk would continue in centres which have a big number of members.
It rolled out one at the New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBPOL) Mosa head office in West New Britain to serve the 3000 members there.
It will be expanded to NBPOL sites in Port Moresby, Lae and Mt Hagen.
“The kiosk is a standalone machine where members can access their statements, balance, know what their beneficiaries are and so forth,” Tarutia said.
“Recently, we have rearranged the two functions of our branches in Port Moresby. Boroko now is dedicated to just payments.
“Our Port Moresby branch opposite Kina Haus is just for receiving applications,” Tarutia said.
“Enquires, like statements, and another initiative that we will be implementing very shortly is building up another client service chamber in Waigani.”
