THERE is no intent whatsoever by the National Alliance Party to team up with the Peter O’Neill-led Government, according to party leader Patrick Pruaitch.
He claimed that O’Neill had been telling his People’s National Congress party members that if they leave, the National Alliance MPs will come and replace them.
“As the leader of National Alliance party, I want to put the record straight and inform this nation and the leaders of this country that I left Peter O’Neill in 2017 because I did not like the way he was managing the country,” he said.
“I’ve known Peter O’Neill for a very long time. I was his treasurer in the last Government and before the elections I left him because his ways and actions were not good for this nation.
“He did not uphold the interest of the country. He did not uphold the trust and values expected by the landowners to give back what they rightfully deserve. I want to do things the way that will benefit my country. I want to protect the interest of the people and resource landowners and give back what they deserve.”
He said the National Alliance under his leadership would never join the O’Neill-led Government.
