ONE of the oldest political parties, the National Party, continues to break new ground in its endeavour for a much-needed face-lift in preparation for the coming elections this year.
The party executive, headed by Steven Kilage, has awarded Intel Centre a contract to programme its database of members.
“The Papua New Guinea National Party is one of the oldest parties in this nation and we believe in supporting young national businessmen and women,” Kilage said.
“If we cannot believe and trust our local businessmen and women then we have no hope.
“The database not only keeps members information but can store pictures and print out member’s pictures with membership certificates.”
He said this was a step forward as the National Party geared up for the 2012 general election.
He said this was the first of its kind as it was the first party to have a proper data base.
The launching of the data base will take place during its annual general assembly from Jan 6-7 in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands.
