TWINZA, the operator of the Pasca A offshore gas field in Gulf, says it is looking at the Asian markets to sell its gas.
PNG gas development manager Eric Kowa said an estimated 200,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) would be produced annually once the project went into production.
“We have been looking at the regional market, in and around the Asia Pacific – Indonesia, China and the rest of Asia,” he told the 2019 Mining and Petroleum Conference in Port Moresby yesterday.
“We hope some of the LPG produced can be put into the domestic market as well to replace what we now get from Australia mostly.”
Kowa also highlighted that Pasca would be a standalone energy project.
“Overall, we are looking at generating about US$400 million (K1.3 billion) of cash flow when we go into production,” he said.
“In 2017, April, we were granted the environment permit, for 25 years.
“Now we have resubmitted our field development plan and is undergoing review.
“In September, the minister for petroleum (and energy) signed off on the ministerial determination for landowners.
“Technically, there are no landowners per say, in Gulf of Papua, from where we are in Pasca.
