MORE than 100 families turned up at the Port Moresby Nature Park on Sunday to celebrate World Ice Cream Day hosted by Laga Industries Ltd through its Gala ice-cream brand.
Laga Industries brand manager Rupeni Igara said it was an opportunity to show the love for ice cream, appreciate the customers and support the park’s wildlife relief fund.
“Because of Covid-19, Nature Park went through some struggles such as maintenance costs and trying to keep the park open so this is our way of assisting and giving something back to them,” Igara said.
Park general manager Michelle McGeorge said commemorating World Ice Cream Day was an opportunity for the park to raise money for its wildlife appeal.
She said the wildlife alone cost K110,000 per month to look after.
