NBC staff complete workshop

 PROGRAMME officers from the National Broadcasting Commission stations have completed a five-day workshop on human rights and gender-based violence.

The workshop was held in Port Moresby from May 6-10 and was facilitated by the Family Sexual Violence Action Committee (FSVAC) and Family Health International and funded by the United States Agency for International Development. 

A statement said the participants developed a deeper understanding of human rights and gender-based violence which would help them in developing more thorough reporting and outreach. 

US Embassy official Steven Terrell-Perica encouraged them to be searchers of the truth by practising investigative journalism and being community leaders through their stories.
