THE National Capital District Tuberculosis five-year strategic plan has been launched by National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Health Minister Michael Malabag.
The plan is the result of a coordinated response and approach towards the multi-drug resistant Tuberculosis situation in National Capital District by the Department of Health, NCD Health, World Health Organisation and partners.
Parkop said the plan was to eradicate tuberculosis in the country.
In September 2014, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill declared an outbreak of the disease in Western, Gulf and National Capital District.
World Health Organisation country representative Doctor Pierter van Maarn said since then, a coordinated response and approach had been taken at a national level towards the fight against Tuberculosis.
The plan is one of them.
