POLICE evicted a group of squatter settlers living on a piece of land in Port Moresby on Friday, saying they were only complying with a court order.
Assistant police commissioner Anthony Wagambie Jr, who heads the National Capital District and Central command, said they were only carrying out their duty as per the court order, and any aggrieved party should challenge the eviction in court.
“Disobeying a court order can amount to contempt on the part of the police as well. Therefore the police (had to) enforce the order,” Wagambie said.
