PAPUA New Guinea Volleyball Association Incorporated president Kila Dick says the National Capital District Commission (NCDC), as major sponsor, has backed the national women’s team with K50,000.
“The team will no doubt be raising the NCDC flag high during their first international campaign (in Canberra next month) to showcase their potential and talent, with some young players preparing well,” he said ahead of the association’s corporate dinner at the Dynasty Restaurant tomorrow.
“Sponsorship will be presented to the players, management and the PNG Volleyball Association executives by city manager Bernard Kipit and NCD Governor Powes Parkop.
“Tables are going for K5,000 per group of 10. The invitation is extended to corporate companies to come on board and support our women in sports. The dinner is proudly supported by the governor.
“The dinner will be used to promote and empower women in sports and build on the association’s financial capacity to send the team to international tournaments for exposure.”
Dick said the team and Yogo for Life would be among a number of groups providing entertainment during the dinner.
“We will also be giving away vouchers courtesy of RNR Club (six K500 tokens) and Food World (five K400 tokens),” he said.
