New board focuses on school instabilities

SCHOOL administration instability, staff non-performance, breach of teaching code of ethics and church values are to come under sharper focus of the new board of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea (ELCPNG) in Eastern Highlands, secretary Tava Mitione says.
The church elected its new board last month to oversee the operations of the Lutheran education board in the province.
According to chairman-elect Robin Iveke, the swearing-in of the education board took place on Sept 15 at the Goroka Lutheran Guest House facilitated by Commissioner of Oaths Vincent Agusave.
Iveke said the board was made up of elected education officials from Kainantu and Goroka.
The members of the board sworn in are Iveke (chairman), Pino Tozeo (primary schools), Jerry Faimot (education representative, ELCPNG Kainantu), Kiff Pahou (community rep), Jessica Gohaneme (women’s rep), Gypsie Foromo (secondary schools), Jack Igemo (church), Eron Hagen (projects), Tava Mitione (secretary), Vincent Agusave (legal adviser), Daniel Suan (ELCPNG), Bernard Kaisom (ELCPNG national church secretary).
