New cell for Lae station

THE upgrade and refurbishment of the Mahalang Police Station in Lae will include a new cell block and a family sexual violence office (FSV), says Lae MP John Rosso.
“This comes about after our request to the Ahi Hope Foundation and International Container Terminal Service Inc (ICTSI) was approved and the Malahang station was redesigned,” Rosso said.
“We will try to replicate this initiative in all other police stations in Lae district and that has the support from the Lae metropolitan superintendent’s office, too,” he said.
Rosso said they will try to ensure that a family sexual violence office is located in all police stations as this was a growing issue that needed to be addressed by everyone.
