THE South Fly district management in Western wants to fix failures and misuse of resources, new administrator Tawa Gebia says.
Gebia, who took the post of district administrator in mid-November, delivered the message to public servants of South Fly based in Daru during a public servants’ dedication service on Friday at Tama Memorial United Church.
“You are going to experience a management that is keen on correcting shortcomings, inaction, failures and misapplication of the resources,” Gebia said.
He said the new management’s interventions and strategies would be applied to take the district to the next level, alluding to the dedication service theme of promoting sincerity in the public service to take back South Fly through strengthening administration mechanisms.
“It is therefore paramount that all institutions of government, churches and community be collaborated in removing impediments and blockages to service delivery so that our people can feel and enjoy sustaining effects of goods and services that are going to be provided under the new management,” Gebia said.
He said for public servants and leaders to work together. His administration would provide advice and support to the leaders to discharge their responsibilities with due diligence.
He also asked managers in the district to lift their performance and code of conduct in strengthening the administration.
Meanwhile, Daru town mayor Samuel Wingu urged the administration to build the capacity of public servants to deliver effectively.
Wingu also urged the public servants to provide appropriate advice to the elected leaders to initiative improvement projects in the local level government areas for the people to benefit from.
