THE Social Democratic Party, founded by NCD Governor Powes Parkop, launched its new party logo in Port Moresby last week.
The party held a competition to design a logo and it attracted 274 entries.
Three winning logos were selected.
James Wanu won first prize.
Vincent Tomaur and Joe Waragi took the second and the third prizes respectively.
Parkop thanked all who took part in the competition.
Parkop said the party was ready to launch in Lae this month.
He said the party had 1,226 members.
He said SDP “is for the people with the motto ‘walking together and working together’ a great concept of working together to build a nation”.
“SDP is centred around people who will walk together and work together to alleviate the problems of many other people who have been neglected over many years and who can work together to make a change.”
Parkop said the party had no interest in money and instead wanted “a strong foundation that will address the desires of the people”.
