CORPORATE Touch Port Moresby newcomers, Datafix, forced AON to a 3-all draw in the open women’s division at the Bisini Sports Precinct on Sunday.

The club’s morale was boosted by their new uniforms, imported from Australia by Ray and Elizabeth Alova.

AON were leading 3-2 at halftime before Datafix’s new recruit and former Moni Plus tryscoring machine Marie Max Tu’u equalised, for the only touchdown in the second half.

Datafix had all touch veterans in Elizabeth Alova, Karen Kula, Kila Karara, Rachel Lan, Rosa Haro and current PNG international Diane Vetu, who were supported by Tu’u, Kake Ume, Margaret Alova and Nellie Tetega.

Their opponents, on the other hand, were boosted with a sprinkling of PNG Palais players.

It was the international duo (Vetu, Tu’u) who set the foundation for the much-needed draw to start off the club’s season on the right footing.

Datafix points were scored from wrap-arounds, which caught the opposition off guard.

The Palais connection of former captain Kymlie Karani Rapilla, Cassandra Sampson, Kelly Maru, Helen Sampson and Marie Greg made Aon the better side but were careless in their attacking when in excellent possession.

The Sampson sisters and Rapilla were in magnificent form but could not complete the sets when needed in second play.

They had all the speed and skill but silly passes and executions riddled their attack in opposition territory.
