TWO senior police officers allegedly raped a woman in custody at the Hohola police station over the weekend.
Police station commander Ben Trepi said the matter was reported to the police management by the victim’s husband after she had reported to him the alleged incidents that took place on Friday and Saturday.
The victim, 15, from Western Highlands, was married recently.
She was arrested by police for allegedly stabbing another woman over her husband.
“A suspect who was a night supervisor had assisted her in the station, shared betel nuts with her and later grabbed her and removed her clothes and sexually penetrated her,” Trepi said.
“He left her there and drove off at around 6am on Friday.”
He said on Saturday another senior police officer attempted a similar act on her inside his office when mothers who sat near the station to sell food reported to him that a suspicious incident happened inside the station.
Trepi found out after going through his officers.
“The matter has been reported to the office of National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’dranou,” he said.
“The police team from Gordon station are to arrest and lay charges against the two officers this Friday,” Trepi said.
“They have been suspended from work.”
He said the two suspects were senior officers attached with the Hohola police station.
The victim was taken to hospital for medical check and treatment and is to be charged for her offence this week.

  • They are sick Police Officers. Are they to protect or to take advantage of the victims!!!

  • It is great to have reporters like Marjorie Finkeo, who are interested reporting cases of such nature but when reporting on cases involving children, she should also find out about the Director of Child & Family Services about what kind of protective services police is supposed to provide to children who come in conflict with the law. In this case, this

  • Police stations should be a safer place when someone is in there for his her own wrong offence …those two officers should be publicly shown to the media for others officers to learn something and not to commit crimes like that too…shame on them both..putting both their job and families on shame
