NHC appoints special procurement committee

NATIONAL Housing Corporation (NHC) managing director Henry Mokono says the establishment of an NHC special procurement committee will enable NHC to fully operate.
Mokono said on Friday during the swearing in of the NHC special procurement committee that this was a historic event for NHC.
“To NHC, this is a milestone, a very few Government departments have their own procurement committees.
“We would like to work and operate under the confines of the law, to do things right, in terms of procuring goods and services, in a transparent and accountable manner,” he said.
“This is so that the legacies of corruption, mismanagement, misappropriation, doing things improperly are eradicated from this country.
“And that things are done properly in terms of assessing tenders and bids that come in for NHC related projects, this committee to make sure that everything is done fairly, and according to laws.”
