NHC employees to get 200 houses at Duran Farm

OF the 2,000-plus new homes to be built at Duran Farm outside Port Moresby, 200 have been allocated to National Housing Corporation (NHC) employees under its housing programme.
Managing director Henry Mokono said their headquarters at Tokarara would be demolished this year and work would begin on a new office complex.
All employees will move into a new office at New Horizon at 8-Mile.
Mokono said work had begun on the NHC Manu Autoport flats, signifying major renovation work that will include all NHC flats and properties in Port Moresby this year.
“These are the pillars and foundation that turn companies and organisations around and then the people of Papua New Guinea, the Government and the public will respect this organisation,” he said.
“NHC is a mammoth task.
“It is present in all parts of Papua New Guinea and not just in your small office space here at the headquarters.
“We will look at the bigger picture, not Port Moresby alone.
“I thank everyone, including all provincial branches, for your support and contribution this year.
“In the new year, we have more challenges to take this organisation forward – among these is the delivering of the Duran Farm social housing project for Papua New Guineans.”
