THE review into the internet wholesale price is still in progress, according to the National Information Communication Technology Authority (Nicta).
Chief executive officer Kila Gulo-Vui told The National that the review was delayed because the industry had asked for an extension of the deadline.
Nicta gave the industry and its stakeholders the opportunity to comment on the submissions.
The review was to have been completed in October but Gulo-Vui said there were two reviews being conducted and expected to be completed this month.
“One review relates to the pricing principles that apply to submarine cable capacity access service,” he said.
“This service is part of a range of other services and is a component in the provision of the wholesale internet service.
“The second review is to consider a reference interconnection offer proposed by PNG DataCo.
“It includes a range of price offers for different wholesale services and for different purchase levels, and is very important to retail operators and service providers.”
